Happy Monday, IABX community!
This Monday, let’s remind ourselves of the wisdom in the Dalai Lama’s words: “… if you feel 'burnout' setting in, if you feel demoralized and exhausted, it is best, for the sake of everyone, to withdraw and restore yourself."
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to push ourselves too hard—working longer, taking on more, and forgetting to pause. But when we ignore the signs of exhaustion, burnout begins to creep in, leaving us drained, discouraged, and unable to give our best.
The Dalai Lama reminds us that rest is not weakness—it’s wisdom. Taking time to recharge isn’t just for your own well-being; it also benefits everyone around you. When you’re restored, you return stronger, more focused, and more capable of showing up fully for your work, your loved ones, and yourself.
Think of it like a phone battery: you wouldn’t expect it to run forever without charging. The same is true for us. Rest, reflection, and restoration are the fuel that allows us to keep moving forward with clarity and purpose.
This week, pay attention to your energy. If you’re feeling stretched thin, give yourself permission to pause. Step back, breathe, and do what you need to restore your mind, body, and spirit. Far from slowing you down, this act of care will prepare you to move ahead with renewed strength.
Remember: you cannot pour from an empty cup. By choosing to restore yourself, you’re choosing to protect your well-being—and that, in turn, allows you to give your best to the world.
Have a great week!
