Happy Monday, IABX community!
This Monday, let’s take a deep breath and remind ourselves that perfection isn’t the goal. Vince Lombardi once said, “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.” Those words carry a powerful truth we can all use in our daily lives.
Too often, we stop ourselves from trying something new or chasing a dream because we think we need to be flawless from the start. We wait for the perfect moment, the perfect plan, or the perfect skills—but those things don’t really exist. Perfection is a moving target, and no matter how hard we try, we can never truly reach it. And that’s okay.
What matters most is the effort we put in. When we aim high and give our best, we naturally push ourselves further than we thought we could go. That’s where excellence lives—not in being perfect, but in showing up, trying again after we fail, and learning from every step of the journey.
Think about it: Some of the greatest writers, athletes, artists, and leaders didn’t start out perfect. They started with a willingness to try, to work hard, and to keep improving. Over time, that dedication led them to greatness. And we can do the same in our own lives, whether it’s in our careers, relationships, personal goals, or creative passions.
This week, instead of pressuring ourselves to get everything “just right,” let’s focus on doing the best we can with what we have. Let’s celebrate the small wins, learn from the mistakes, and remember that each effort we make builds momentum. Step by step, we move closer to excellence.
💡 You don’t have to be perfect to be amazing—you just have to keep going.
Have a great week!
